Simplicity Patterns are outfit patterns released by Simplicity for the Magic Attic Club dolls.
Company Data[]

Simplicity (full name Simplicity Pattern Company) is a manufacturer of home/personal sewing patterns that was created in 1927. They distributed the "Simplicity," "Burda", "It's So Easy" and "New Look" brands of patterns and many other notion and craft tool lines, and as of 2017 also are the head company over Butterick (which also owned McCalls, Vogue, and KwikSew brands). As of 2020 all four major pattern brands including Simplicity are owned by Design Group.
In Relation to Magic Attic Club[]
During the run of the line--in 1998 and 1999--Simplicity released six branded patterns sized specifically for the dolls as part of their Crafts section. With the exception of 8998 and 9066, they all contained casually themed clothes; 8460 also included a ballgown dress, and 8541 included a ballet outfit.
The items are shown on various dolls in the collection, along with props. Every character available--Heather Hardin, Keisha Vance, Megan Ryder, Alison McCann, and Rose Hopkins--had multiple appearances; Megan was on all patterns, Heather and Alison were on five each, and Keisha and Rose were on four each. Patterns were also advertised in the catalogs, with three sold through the company (8541, 8460, and 8549).
Unlike other lines of 18" patterns, these are specifically sized for the Magic Attic Club slim-bodied dolls and will not fit thicker 18" dolls (such as American Girl) without size adjustments.
Select items are intended to be made in stretch knits only, such as tights and leotards. Most shoes and/or socks pictured on the patterns were not included in the pattern as is typical with doll clothes.
